South Africa’s National Crime Statistics 2015:
Murder – 17805
Total sexual offences – 53617
Attempted murder – 17537
Assault with the intention to inflict grievous bodily harm – 182556
Common robbery – 54927
Carjacking – 12773
Robbery at residential premises – 20281
Key findings include:
4.6% increase in murder
14.2% increase in carjacking
5.2% increase on house robberies
5.4% decrease in reported sexual offenses
