Pre-Employment Polygraphs

Once diligent pre-employment checks have been conducted (check for criminal record, qualifications, past employment history) it makes sense to consider requesting that the candidate take a pre employment polygraph test.

A person cannot be forced by law, or otherwise, to undergo such a test.

However, most people with a clear conscience are only too keen to prove their innocence of criminal activities.

If someone refuses to go under a polygraph, a prospective employer may not prejudice the candidate for consideration, but one has to ask the question, “Why is the person reluctant to be polygraphed? Do they have something to hide?”
